Peak Family Session - The Watson Family

I don’t typically market myself as a family photographer, but I secretly love it, and after photographing the Watson family, I’m thinking I need to photograph families more often. I’ve known Elaine and Nate for a long while, but I had never really spent time with their kiddos before their session. Thankfully, they warmed up to me right away, and now they love me, and I’m not just saying that. Every single time I see Clara and Caleb at Chick-fil-A, they get so excited!! I’m not kidding when I say it makes my day.

I approached this session a little differently than I typically do. I really wanted to capture the children’s personalities, so after we snapped a few family photos, I let the kids run a little free and just followed them around and photographed them in their element. I’m super happy with the results and have actually begun doing that with all of my family sessions with younger kids.

If he ain’t the cutest thing you’ve seen all day!

I just really hope Cole and I look this good after we have kids.

Towards the end of their session the wind started to pick up, and we thought a storm was about to roll through, but thankfully we were able to finish up before the rain came.

Elaine & Nate, thanks for having me to photograph your family! I loved getting to spend the evening with y’all and getting to know the kids better, and I’m glad that I got to capture them and all of their personality.
