In-Home Lifestyle Session - The Huggins Family

When you see the term “lifestyle photography,” what do you think? Leave a comment because I would love to know! For me, when I hear “lifestyle photography,” I think of photos that are more natural and candid, and oftentimes in their home or on their property. I want to be honest with y’all, I love photographing weddings and high school/college seniors, but when I get to photograph a family in their home, it gives me a joy that I cannot express. When I left the Huggins’ session, my heart was SO full.

A slow morning with your pups and eating cinnamon rolls is my kind of morning.

2020 caused us to slow down. I feel like living in the U.S., that’s a foreign concept. We’re always on the go, working too many hours in a week, quickly moving from one thing to another, and rarely getting to do the things we actually enjoy (i.e. reading a book, taking a slow weekend, planting a garden). Jared & Madison used their extra time to actually grow a box garden Full of tomatoes and peppers.

Jared & Madison, thanks for welcoming me into your home!

Now, I know that there are some of y’all that are reading this blog and looking at these pictures and thinking to yourselves, “Okay, I would like to do photos like these, but my husband and I are not this cute, nor is our home this clean, and I don’t have white walls and a white comforter.” That is okay, I promise! Sure, white walls are nice, but I can work some magic with some window light. Also, your kid’s toys on the floor is a sign that your house is lived in. Don’t clean up the toys for me. In-home lifestyle sessions are extra special, and I want everyone to do them.
