Family Session - Finley Family at Dreher Island State Park

I'll admit it - I'm still catching up on blogging from 2017. Last fall/early winter season was my busiest yet (zero complaints), but with me still working part-time as the Marketing Director at Chick-fil-A, blogging ends up on the back burner a lot of the time. Thankfully, there's that saying, "better late than never." It was kind of my motto with blogging in 2017, but I'm hoping to change that this 2018.

With Cole and I only living in Newberry for a little over a year now, I'm still trying to grow into the market here and gain local clients. When the Finleys inquired about doing a session, I was extra thankful because they're locals! We actually go to church with the Finleys, and Amanda is the Assistant Principal for one of our local high schools and knows some of our Young Life students.

JW is already a true southern gentleman, and quite handsome if I do say so myself. When we finished their session, JW even made the comment that they should have family pictures taken more often. Hearing that made me smile because as a family photographer, I strive for my clients to have a good time and feel comfortable during their session.

This was my first time photographing at Dreher Island State Park, and it's definitely a hidden gem. The fall colors were vivid, and I loved having access to Lake Murray.

Lonnie, Amanda, and JW, y'all are seriously one of the sweetest families I've ever photographed. Thanks for exploring Dreher Island with me!
