Summer Wedding - Player & Kristen Chappell

I’m taking us all the way back to July 2019 and to the morning of Player and Kristen’s wedding. It was a rainy one, but you can’t really expect differently during the summer in South Carolina. Lauren, my assistant, and I drove up to Greenville to take photos of Kristen and her closest friends getting ready. Once they were all prepped, we headed to Belleview Meadows where Kristen slipped into her dress.

Before the ceremony, Kristen wanted to do a first look with her dad. I want to say the moment was sentimental, but I’m not sure that that’s the appropriate word… it was more, “joyful.” Mr. Little is a goofball, as you can tell, and likes to make every situation light and joyful.

One of the funnest bridal parties to date. They could not be tamed.

I’d be lying if I told you they aren’t one of my favorite couples. ever. While editing their ceremony I came to a halt during the scene of Kristen walking down the aisle towards her groom. Player’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time is one that I’ll never forget. I teared up that day, and I tear up looking at it still.

After all of the family photos, first dances, and donut eating, the dance floor got wild. When I say that these people love to dance, I’m not exaggerating. We even got to witness the reuniting of Player’s childhood boy band lip syncing to “Great Escape” by Boys Like Girls all while playing guitar with a golf putter and a broomstick. The reception might have been my favorite part of the day.

Player and Kristen’s day ended with a light rain and a sparkler exit. It was the quintessential summer wedding.

Kristen, I’m glad that I impressed you and your family enough to hire me to shoot your wedding too. There’s something special about getting to photograph two sisters’ weddings - Jessie’s in 2017 and Kristen’s in 2019. Getting to work with your family twice was something special, and I’m grateful that I got to share these special moments with y’all. Player and Kristen, I love y’all. Seriously, so glad that y’all finally got married, and I hope that your marriage is just as joyful and fun as your wedding day.
