Fall Photos - What to Wear, What Not to Wear, and Outfit Inspiration

Have fall family photos coming up and need outfit inspiration? Here’s your guide!

As a photographer, I get asked, “What should we wear?” a lot, so I thought a quick blog post would be beneficial for you to save and refer back to.

4 Easy tips:

  1. Wear neutral colors - white/off-white, browns & tans, blues/navy, dark green, burnt orange, maroon, and black all look and photograph great. If at all possible, I would try to avoid wearing bright red. You probably don’t know this, but bright red will reflect on your face and make your skin have a pink tone.

  2. If you’re wearing jeans, choose a darker wash. Darker jeans are always more flattering.

  3. Avoid lots of different patterns, graphic t’s, and huge logos. Solids and minimal patterns are less distracting.

  4. You don’t have to match, just choose complementary colors and patterns.
