Downtown Columbia Wedding - Jason & Shelby Mohn

One of the perks of being married is you inheriting your spouse's friends. Cole went to school with Jason and Shelby, and thankfully referred me to them when he saw that they got engaged (thanks babe!).

After a couple inquiries and books with me, the first thing we do is get some food. While we eat and meet, I’ll help them find other vendors that they still need to book, and I start making the day-of timeline. After that, we schedule their engagement and/or bridal portrait session(s). Jason and Shelby decided to come out to Newberry for their engagement session, and you can check our their sweet session here.

Jason and Shelby’s wedding kicked off my 2019 fall season, and let me tell you, it was a good one.

I love it when my brides use local. Thanks Evelyn’s for the perfect dress and King’s for the classy rings.

Shelby and Jason got ready at the Sheraton in Columbia (dreamy), and while Shelby was getting ready, Jason had these beautiful flowers delivered for his bride. It was the sweetest touch.

If I have to say one thing about Shelby as a bride, it would be that she was so relaxed and so radiant. Even in the midst of a transportation mishap later in the day, she remained calm and let her bridesmaids take care of things. And, of course, as this photo so clearly shows, she was such a radiant and stunning bride.

After going through thousands of photos of Shelby, I came to the conclusion that she doesn’t have a bad side. She’s all-around beautiful.

One special thing Jason did with his groomsmen before the ceremony was go to Tios, a Mexican restaurant right beside the Horseshoe, and grab a drink.

Shelby and Jason both went to the University of South Carolina, so obviously their ceremony took place at Rutledge Chapel on the Horseshoe.

They are finally husband and wife! The joy in this photo is so evident.

I’m not lying when I say that Shelby and Jason may be one of the most photogenic couples I’ve ever photographed.

Their reception was at 1208 Washington, which has become one of my favorite venues. The vaults are beautiful, the space is very open, and it has such a classic feel.

Hear me when I say their friends. showed. up. This was such a celebration and one that was so much fun to photograph!

Despite it being rainy, their sparkler exit was everything. There was so much love from family and friends as Shelby and Jason made their way down the aisle of sparklers and sealed the night with a kiss.

Shelby and Jason, thank y’all so much for letting me photograph your journey from an engaged couple to a married couple!
